This is The Story Of My Son Enrique Meza Jr. Enrique Was Born September 18, 1996 In Brownsville,Texas. He Has Two Sisters. Marisol Is 14 And Yajaira Is 12. He Was 18 Years Old and His Height Was 6'4. It All Started November 28, 2014. My Son Was Send the The Hospital Due To The Fact That One Of His Lungs Wouldnt Appear On An X-Ray. He Was Only In Valley Baptist Hospital in Brownsville For A Few Hours Until He Was Transferred To Edingburg. My Son Was Send To Endingburg Because There Wasnt Any Doctor Of The Lungs In Brownsville. Well After A Few Weeks Later Around December 17, Enrique Was Diagnosed With Cancer And Had A Rare Tumor They Had Never Seen Before. On The 24 Of December Enrique Was Send To Houston. The Doctors Did A Cat-Scan And Found Out That Enrique Had Little Tumors on His Back And The Cancer Had Spread All Over His Body. They Also Told Us The Type Of Cancer He Had Which Was Neuroendocrine Cancer Stage 4. Due To The Tumors, Enrique's Right Upper Leg , His Bone Was Slowly Breaking. Days Later, A Metal Was Put In To Help Support His Leg So It Wouldnt Break. He Was In Therapy So That He Can Be Able To Move His Leg. Around January 22 We Were Send Home. Enrique Needed to Go To Radiation In Brownsville For His Back. He Completed 6 Radiations, Unfortunately My Son Felt Horrible Because of The Radiation So We Were Send To Houston Again In February 14,2015. In Houston He Completed The 4 Radiations He Needed. Enrique Also Needed 10 Radiations in His Lung So He Completed Those While We Were In Houston. In Total It Was 20 Radiations, 10 In His Back And 10 On His Lung. After They Finished Radiation, He started Chemo But On Pills. 15 Days He Would Take One Type Of Chemo. Then Next Month For 15 Days He Would Take Another Type Of Chemo. When Enrique Finished Chemo, He Started Therapy To See If He Got Better, But Sadly My Son Was Getting Worse. The Doctors Always Had a Plan, They Never Told Us They Couldnt Help Us Nomore. They Gave Us An Application for Make A Wish Foundation, Because Enrique Has In The Hospital For Awhile. My Son Didnt Want It Because His Wish Was To Get Better. His Wish Was Also To Graduate. Well On April 10, We Were Send Home Again. He Always Worried About School. That What If He Lost Everything He Worked For, What If He Didnt Graduate Afterall. Well I Went to Talk To The Principal And Told Her Everything That Has Been Happening To Enrique. My Son Had Good Grades And Never Behaved Bad. So On April 20, His Wish Came True, He Graduated. The Next Day He Had A Party Due to His Graduation Everyone Was Invited. Enrique Wanted A Mustang For A Long Time, Thanks To Melissa And Her People, They Bought Enrique A Mustang And Alot More Other Good Things. Unfortunately, My Son Couldnt Drive His Car, Because He Felt Weak Due To His Cancer. On April 25 My Son Was Send To Valley Regional Hospital In Brownsville Because He Felt Very Sick. They Were Very Rude And Disrespectful In That Hospital, They Told My Son That He Was Going to Die In A Few Hours And That To Say His Last Words To Us. They Didnt Want To Do Anything to Enrique So They Send Us Home, The Only Thing They Did Was put Him In Hospice. A Few Days Later My Son Was Taken Out Of Hospice Because The Doctors From Houston Never Said They Couldnt Do Anything With Him Nomore. Enrique Felt Worse, But Nobody Here In The Valley Wanted to Take His Case. But As Parents, My Husband And I Would Always Find Ways For Hospitals Or People To Help Enrique. Thanks To A Social Worker In Brownsville, She Had Told A Doctor About Enrique's Case And Was Interested. The Doctor Was Located In San Antonio, Texas. So The Social Worker Send Us Over There. We Werent Sure If They Would Accept Us In San Antonio And If They Didnt Accept Us There, Our Next Plan Was To Take Him To Houston. Thank God, We Got Accepted In San Antonio. They Attended Enrique As A Child. But His Cancer was Considered As An Adults Disease. He Was Treated With The Best Care In San Antonio. The Doctor Asked For His Records In Houston. The Doctors Then Told Me There Wasnt Much They Can Do Because His Disease Was More Advanced Than Before. Enrique Preferred To Stay In A Hospital Than His House, He Felt More Safe There. The Days Kept Getting Worse And Worse And Unfortunately, On June 26, My Son Passed Away. His Right Lung Was Getting filled Up With Water, Sadly My Son Drowned Because Of That. My Family And I Traveled Back Home To Brownsville. I Couldnt Sleep And I Didnt Eat For Days. I Was Depressed. This Was A Horrible Sad Experience. This Was How Enrique's Story Ended..
