The car is 2013, Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. I am the second owner. I purchased car in NY with 14,000 miles on it. It's always been to the dealership for maintenance and service. Move to Kissimmee Florida for a job. Job fell thru. Been living on last of my pension and savings, almost depleted. In Florida, it's been serviced by a Hyundai dealership. Last week I was driving and engine was making terrible noise. Was close by to Hyundai dealership and drove to it. When I pulled in, the service technician said based on the noise I needed a new engine. I was outraged and asked how could that be? No 'service engine light' came on, it was in for oil and service 2 weeks prior, why didn't the computer analysis say there was a problem before this?. I was told that sometimes this happens, no warning. He quoted me a repair price of $9200. I was stunned. No choice but to have repair done, can't drive the car without engine. So I have to repair the engine, transmission and pay for a car rental until repair is complete. I contacted Hyundai, no help. The extended warranty ran out at 60,000 miles because the 100,000 warranty is only for original owner. I am at 72,000 miles. I have about $2,000 in savings I can use but I need additional funds to pay for the car engine. I am seeking help in raising the funds for this repair. I also have to continue making monthly car loan payments for another 2 years. Please help me.
