Greetings Friends,

My name is Amanda. I was born and raised in Denver, CO and have spent my 34 years living here. My story is one of consistently persevering over obstacles, taking on responsibility, learning, and growing to be a better person in spite of all life can sometimes give us. I by no means have it as bad as some out there, and value gratitude.

A bit about me: From being a run-away teen struggling with addiction, seeing friends die and go to prison, I began working full-time at 17 and making a career for myself. I earned my way off the 'streets' as it were, stabilized and went to college full time at night. Every skill I needed to know, I taught myself on the job and was a tangible asset to my company. When I met others in similar situations, I did my best to provide guidance which sometimes helped me make sense of a seemingly chaotic world. I worked at the same job for 16 years, pouring myself and my loyalty into a company that ultimately did not reciprocate that sentiment. When the boss hired his 'girlfriend', years of gas lighting, undermining and antagonism ensued. Add to this a violent sexual assault in 2013 that the police did not take seriously, and the suicide of my best friend John, and life had gone from stable to as bleak as my mind can comprehend, even now.

Before I had the good sense to quit last June, I attempted to take my own life and was in the ICU for several days. If it weren't for the love of my life finding me and calling an ambulance I would not be here today.

I have been on the long road to stabilization since I quit my job, and although it has been financially taxing, I have managed to find happiness and bootstrap my own web design business. I have adopted a cattle dog who is my greatest joy.

The rest: Unfortuantely my mother in-law lives in a very rural region on the pacific coast when she broke her hip. The around-the-clock care required is not in her budget and we are packing up to move in a month. It is the least I can do to care for the mother of someone who saved my life, I just don't know how I can make it happen without help. I feel that life could go either way now, and as much as I value self-reliance I know I must ask in the only way I know how for an angel-investor. I want to believe good things can happen.

Thank you for your consideration.
