10 months ago I purchased a 2012 Mustang GT with 28,000 miles thinking that it would be a reliable vehicle but due to a poor oiling issue with the first generation coyote 5.0 engine it had a rod bearing failure resulting in a catastrophic failure thus leaving me with a vehicle that has been sitting for 8 months now. When I purchased the mustang shortly after I also purchased an extended warranty through warranty direct just in case something were to happen to said vehicle. When the rod bearing failure happened I called warranty direct who then scheduled my car to be picked up, taken to my local Ford dealership, and the technician deemed the rod bearing failure to be from the known oiling issue that happens to these engines. (Ford only replaced engines for those who had issues and were within the 50,000 mile/ 5 year limited powertrain warranty) my car did not qualify for that obviously due to being 1 year out of warranty. Once the technician removed and broke down the engine warranty direct required that an inspector come out and look at the cause of the rod bearing failure but denied my claim because of aftermarket exhaust which I did not install. The previous owner had long tube headers installed which had no correlation with the issue that the engine had. After being denied I was responsible for paying for the disassembly and labor which resulted in $1,350 that I had to get a loan for. Due to my recent bankruptcy my credit is limited but I have been able to maintain the car loan payment, insurance, as well as the additional loan for the $1350. I was layed of from General dynamics land systems due to lack of contract funding which resulted in 45 employees including myself to lose their positions. I have found a new promising career in industrial maintenance with WKW. The issue that I have is that I am having to drive my grandparent's only vehicle to work and with them having health issues I fear that they will have an emergency and not be able to get to a hospital due to me having their vehicle. Things are picking up but no progress will be made soon due to myself not being able to get an engine for my car. My credit limits with my credit union have been reached and they will not loan me anything else even though I have the vehicle financed with them. I share this story with you all in hopes that some stress can be resolved. I understand that there are more pressing issues but everyone's struggle is different. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and God bless.
