This year, Emma and Hanna started attending a wonderful outdoor school here in Ashland, called FolkSoul Farm School. It balances outdoor, experiential learning with a Waldorf curriculum that emphasizes academics, arts, handcrafts, and many opportunities for exploring nature on the 16 acre organic farm that serves as the school campus.

This program supports their strengths in the areas of both the visual arts and scientific inquiry, while also being supportive of other academic areas where they are still developing.
The twins have been through many changes so far in their short lives. They've experienced their parent's separation, a move to a new town and new state, the death of two grandparents, and have attended two new schools. They are sensitive, artistically gifted, and curious about the natural world around them. In search of a school that would support their growth, I felt so grateful to find FolkSoul Farm. I value it, not only for its unique offerings but because it has created a wonderful and present community that values the emotional/ spiritual development of our children. This school is providing presence and awareness to each child. As a single parent, this support is something I really value for my children, and is not something I can always provide, nor is it available in public schools, unfortunately.
FolkSoul Farm strives to be accessible, and they have made a decisive choice to provide this educational opportunity at a tuition rate that is about 40% less than the cost of other alternative elementary schools in the area.
Despite this, I am having a hard time affording the tuition at this time. I am going through an adjustment trying to refocus my career now that we've left the Bay Area and are in a small town. I feel a tremendous amount of pressure doing this on my own, and am reaching out to ask for your gracious support if this is something you are able to contribute to.
