Still in the hospital. Today was a tough day, I am finding out more and more docs really despise the word Lyme Disease, and loathe me even more when I start explaining the disease and how it has affected me.
As a heath care provider myself, communication in one of the most important things we should practice. Today, I was told about 7 different opinions, all of them, to me-were completely unacceptable- including living in a nursing home.
I realized after a Crohns/Colitis/Dysautonomia flare that I- in fact did appear to belong in a nursing home, with my walker, oxygen tank, unsteady gait, early onset dementia and, heck today it was so bad- I had two accidents and needed a wear a damn diaper. And people at depends, I am a size zero these days, so you need to make adult diapers for little model people like me. LOL
In all seriousness, my options are:
1- Keep working on raising enough money to get back to AZ, so I can
2- Stay out of nursing home, not that I don't love the elderly
3- Get to hang out and take care of my son again
4- Find my self being healthy again and go back to doing what I I love most, helping people.
Thank you everyone for your support, we are already over 8k in donations, we are 1 tenth of the way up the mountain, please keep climbing this mountain with me, when we reach the top and I get better, you may never know when I will be able to help YOU!!!!!
Thank you for the medical ID bracelet, your donations purchased this. Its a slap band bracelet from the 80's!
3- Be like the first person who doesn't need
So, unles i can back to AZ, I will not survive for more than a couple of months. I woke up in the hospital this AM seizing, I can no longer eat without choking, passing out, or a host of other things. The lyme is attacking my brain and nothing is working anymore. I'm in so much pain and I miss my son.....please please help if you can and educate yourself on late stage lyme, you don't want to wind up like me, trying to make out a will and jumping through hoops to get the smallest thing.
Hi everyone!!! I hope you are all having an awesome holiday season. I missed Christmas and Thanksgiving this year, but I am still thankful. According to a few docs, I would not have been writing this, lol ha! Those are the ones I fire...
However, I am now on Hospice care, as was just diagnosed with Pneumonia for the second time in 6 weeks. This is typically what happens to people with Dysautomonia and with Lyme it is debilitating later stages.
Mayo clinic in AZ (www.sheamedical.com) can definitely help, but I have to raise enough money to get treated and then LIVE alone (which is not recommended) to get treated. Most people are treated for at least three months.
The only thing that keeps me from going is thinking like Rocky, and my son....and your continued support and prayers. Please keep passing this along. <3 <3 <3
Supergirl is very lucky, my favorite gastro doc took my case back on.
Sitting in his office in a wheelchair and watching the man who
diagnosed me in tears looking at me. I asked Dr Zucker why he was
crying, and he looked back at me at made me cry...
"You are the only patient I know that not only changed her life around, kicked severe Crohns in the ass, and then said world, here I come to write an award winning book. A decorated practitioner such as yourself doesn't deserve this. You're a VIP, we will see you for free. You call the shots, Christie....I will run every test you need. Tommorrow morning, my favorite nutritionist will not die on my watch." Wow, thank you God. I'm not even covered under his insurance.....words can not express.
Put Dr Zucker in your prayers today. Tomorrow I should know why the heck I haven't been able to swallow forever.
We are still working on raising the money for me to be treated in AZ (Shea Medical) once I have the consult, but God willing and with you're help, I will get there. Thank you so much, :)
Hi There! My name is Christie Korth. I am a mother to a handsome 8 year old and a beautiful 4 year old angel daughter in heaven. I am also an award winning author, Crohn's survivor and an American renowned nutritionist. I have lovingly helped thousands of people, but have been diagnosed with several terminal conditions.
I am a fighter, my dad taught me to never, ever quit. I have been through hell in the past two years, 41 hospital stays, no answers, squeaky clean credit me found myself having to go bankrupt, loosing my high paying corporate job. My medical costs are increasing by the second, so I ask you to read my story. My son needs me, and your donations will pay for dysautonomia rehab, surgeries, transportation, treatment at Shea Medical in Scottsdale , AZ (www.sheamedical.com) Cost for treatment and travel are of upwards of 100k. Shea is my last shot and where the hospitals here would like to send me. and my blessed doc who has been treating me pro bono for two years, Dr David A Gentile.
When I was 19, I discovered I had Crohn's Disease and almost died. In my first book, The IBD Healing Plan and Recipe Book, I speak about how I healed myself and thousands of others afflicted with IBD. I also deicated 6 years of my career to working with Dr. Melillo as the corporate director of nutrition for Brain Balance. I have helped thouands of families with Autism, ADHD, etc. It has been my life's mission to help others, always!
Flash forward to 2013, I had been working three jobs for 6 years to
support my family, and after almost loosing a gallbladder, flat lining
dozens of times, I kept coming back to life, and was finally was
diagnosed with 20 different health conditions. 4 of them a EXTREMELY
RARE. Due to my medical conditions, over the past 2 years I have
attempted to go back to work dozens of times, but continue to
However, my spirit in the law of attraction and faith in God is good, and my mission once again, is to help those around me by writing two more books once I am well on the new medical conditions I have. My goal is to donate 10 percent of sales to Dysautonomia and Lyme Disease Research and Awareness.
I am now in desperate need to fund my medical care for the following health conditions:
Please donate whatever you can, even if it is a dollar! I have beautiful 7 year old who needs his mama and a baby who passed 4 years ago who isn't ready to meet her Mama in heaven yet.
God put me on this planet to help people, and I have done so, and with his grace and help to complete my medical treatments, I can finally get back to do what I do best, being a Mama and a rockstar nutritionist/author who wants to "Heal the World" one person at a time.
