It is practically impossible to see with the naked eye but the prices of air tickets follow a pattern of behavior. That is, prices fluctuate based on multiple factors that escape the human eye, but not the great brain of Google. The Californian giant has announced a hyped update of Google Flights , its flight search engine. This sophisticated tool now incorporates an algorithm that takes into account the price history of the routes, so that alerts us when the price of a given route is going to rise, and consequently, when it is best to book that trip.

The operation of the tool can not be simpler: the user enters the airport of origin and destination, the date of the trip, and press "intro" to activate all machinery of the 'big data' of Google. The search engine begins analyzing the price history for that route and if we activate the notification of the price variation, Google will notify us when it is expected to rise from a minimum price. With this data, the user can make the purchase decision based on verified data and ensure that he gets the cheapest possible rate.

Activating the tracking of prices, Flights will send us an e-mail alerting us of future variations on a given price with a minimum margin of error, being able to configure search criteria like nearby airports, favorite airlines or even if we want a direct flight or with A maximum of scales. Google has also arranged that when selecting a particular flight, the system warns us of possible cheaper prices if it comes on other dates close to the expected.

However, everything presented and despite its great value, is just the tip of the iceberg of what offers this potentísima tool: Google Flights also allows to let the tool is the one that suggests destinations depending on the type of experience we want and Logically, at the best price. So, if you want to travel to the United States in December but do not have preferences about the city, Flights will display a map with the different destinations and their prices, specifying in which week the tickets should be booked.

Flights now arrives at the detail as well as informing about details of the flight that has been selected, as if it has WiFi, the entertainment on board, or if the seat has a plug. The tool also specifies the estimated time of stopover at each airport if the route includes it. The update is now available in Spain and in our language, but for the moment only as a web service and without a specific mobile application, although it may not be late.
