In May 2014 I found out I was Pregnant, from the beginning it was a rocky start with me bleeding on and off again. From the start of 18 weeks my water broke and he almost didn’t make it. Weeks passed and turned to months, eventually I hit viability at 24 weeks where I admitted myself into the hospital, the reason for preterm labor and abrupt ion was unknown. Back then we didn’t know of his diagnosis. He was born by emergency cesarean at 29 weeks, with Truncus Arteriosus. He was 3lbs 1 oz 14 inches long! We were in the honey moon phase, all we cared was to have him home. Our path was unknown. He spent 3 months in one NICU until being transferred several miles away to finally have his 1st open heart surgery. He finally weighed well over 6lbs to survive. We spent a total of 5 months in the NICU before coming home. He has a gtube, and is oxygen dependent. We are also currently admitted at the CVICU for RSV where we almost lost him once more.. He had to be recusitated. This time around it’s been a month but he’s a year old and is doing just well. Although the stress of this, losing my job, we are all getting through this.
