I don’t know if you have read the touching words that these people have put into their letter or not, but I assure you that when you do, you will be moved to the core.
These stories are from people all across the country; from the East coast to the West. They are honest and sincere. Most of these stories have been written and submitted by a child’s mother. It’s not just the child with the heart condition, it’s the mommy’s heart that’s affected as well.
Little Esteban: He is a true fighter! From the time he was in his momma’s tummy until birth. Born early at 29 weeks by emergency C-section, weighing just slightly more than 3lbs and having his first open heart surgery at just 3 months old.
Avery’s Special Heart: What a sweet angel you are! Born with CHD and other health issues, you would never know just by looking at the smile on her face. Terrified of surgery, she knows it will save her life. If we all could have the contagious heart, smile and attitude of Avery!
Five year old Samuel: Born with Critical Congenital Heart Defects is a tough guy! And mom is a fighter too. She was told before he was born that he probably wouldn’t make it through the delivery and if he did, chances were very low that he would survive the three life-saving open heart surgeries that he would need. What they did next will truly touch your heart.
These are just a few of many more stories to read. You may be wondering how they got so many votes so far; it’s because they are people that have poured out their heart into their story. They have shared it with everyone they can think of and asked them to vote for them! What a blessing this contest is to allow them a platform to tell their story for the world to read – Thank You!
You may be one of the lucky ones who doesn’t have a heart condition in your family, or know anyone that does, but I’m sure you have some kind of “heart story” to tell. Have you helped someone with a heart condition? Do you know a child or an adult who is affected by CHD or heart health issues? Do you know someone who has had a heart attack? Have you ever had your heart broken?
If it’s anything that has to do with a “Story from the Heart” you really should write about it by entering the contest. You probably don’t know that your story will help another person. Sometimes all we need is to know that someone understands and to have people you can count on in your life.
I know when you read these stories you will see similar qualities in these peoples’ lives. They are determined, courageous, strong, loving, happy, and gracious people … and that’s true character. Those are all qualities we should strive for everyday! #MoveYourMtn
