The Importance of Updates during a Crowdfunding Campaign

By Prior Logan | Blog, Creation & Marketing Tips, View All | Comments are Closed | 24 July, 2014 | 0

updates (1)

Updating your donors during a crowdfunding campaign can be crucial to your success.

Yes…crucial, critical, of utmost important to the success of your campaign.

We are a “donation” platform…meaning that people will donate to your cause with no tangible expectations in return.  There’s no reward or perk or equity in a business that they’ll receive for their generous donation.

YOU are the value that your donors are buying into.

Whether you’re a team, small business, or organization….YOUR donors chose to help you because they believe in YOU and your mission.

So…if someone is investing in YOU….you owe it to them to keep them informed along the way.

As your campaign moves along…update your page with pictures, videos, and notes about your mission.

It’s a fact that campaigns that have at least THREE updates will earn at least 239% more than those campaigns WITHOUT updates.

Think of your campaign page updates as a blog or journal.  Every time something great, amazing, or interesting happens to you…document it.  With our platform, every time you update your campaign page,  your donors will be emailed an update.

Your donors will not only be INVESTING with you, they’ll be INVESTED in you.  They are part of your campaign now…this amazing online community that you’ve built to support your mission.

It’s a simple gesture of thanks that you can extend to your donors.

You can get a great idea of how to update your page by looking at Just For You Mom’s Backpacks4Kids Campaign.  Can you see how they use their updates to not only let the donors know how the campaign is going, but also a place to thank the donors.  That’s exactly how it should be done!
